Nathan Chando came into the world as a whirlwind of sass and determination. Due to be born at the end of July, Nathan decided he was done being cooked and came barreling into the world on June 27, 1989 a full month before his parents were ready for him. They hadn't even bought diapers for him to come home to. They had a month, they had time to get the final things and then surprise they were holding their new born son and explaining to their four year old daughter why poking him was not a good idea.

Childhood for Nate was normal, he was dressed up in feather boas and tiaras by his sister, which went well until he was three and refused to give the tiara back, claiming it was his and he was the princess. His mom ended up going out and buying him his own, since he was so devistated when forced to give Anna her's back. From there he only got more interested in the things his sister did and wanted. He started asking her to paint his nails when she'd paint her's, he want the same shirt she got from the store and when he was told it was a girl's shirt he'd say he liked it anyway. By the time he was seven his parents just let him wear whatever he wanted, even if it was a pink shirt with frills and glitter. He was happy and they wanted a happy child.

Nathan was eight when his father died. It was hard on the family, but they were surrounded by relatives and had a lot of love and support. His mother and father had always accepted him, so when he was thirteen and his mother was starting to date again it was hard on the boy. His mom didn't bring her boyfriend home for nearly a year, wanting to be sure he was something special before introducing him to the children. Anna was seventeen and about to graduate from high school, while Nate was in eighth grade and getting ready to start high school. The man came over one afternoon on a Saturday to meet the kids. He adored Anna but Nate made him uncomfortable. The teen boy was dressed in leggings, a black shirt style dress and and a pair of his sister's heels, because he was home and could. The following week Norah broke up with the man and refused to tell the kids why until they were much older. He'd apparently made some very rude comments about her son and Norah believed in being yourself, and refused to let some outsider tarnish how Nate saw himself.

High school was a mix of awkward, painful and amazing for Nate. He was that weird kid that people didn't know what to make of but he had the self esteem to not give a shit. Freshman year he was lanky and awkward looking, not sure how to manifest his internal feelings with the external. He started making friends and they all accepted his quarkiness and unique ability to dress or judge what they were wearing. When he was fifteen he came home and sat his mom down. He didn't think she'd care but he wanted to tell her to be sure, so he sat her down and told her he was gay. She nodded some and said 'right but what's the news you are telling me?' and when he squaked about how she wasn't surprised she pointed out all the outfits he'd worn and the fits he used to throw over nail polish, tiaras and how certain colors just didn't go with her skin tone. He really couldn't argue that and so at fifteen he came out and never looked back.

College wasn't something that Nate really wanted to do, but he had no other ideas either, so he enrolled in a local community college and started working on a basic business degree. On the weekends he would go into Seattle and spend a lot of time at the gay bars, enjoying the fact that he could meet people like him readily. It was one of the Friday nights he was there that one of the queens suggested he give drag a try, he was already doing his make up and hair, why not add a dress? He went home and asked his mom what she thought. She looked at him and said "I figured you'd already be in drag, you were wear your sister's dresses up through junior high" so with her encouragement he fell into the world of drag queens.

He finally went and got a job at an Ulta store in Seattle, where he learned to do makeup better than what he'd taught himself and started working at a couple of the clubs on the weekend. While at Ulta the hair stylists would teach him tricks when they were slow, and even often allowed him to bring in his wigs to have them style and show him how to style them properly. Now, as a 26 year old man, he's the manager of that Ulta store and does drag on his time off. He's the type of person who if he's feeling pretty that day will dress in drag and if he's feeling lazy he dresses in boy clothes. He's gone to work more than once in full drag and surprisngly no one judges.
